What Black America Should Learn from Israel’s Genocide in Gaza
Israel's genocide of Palestinians in Gaza will not stop anytime soon. We can thank the American government, the American right wing, Joe Biden and white liberals for this support.
Since the start of the Hamas lead “Al-Aqsa Flood” operation that occurred on October 7th, the Israelis have been indiscriminately bombing the Gaza Strip. The Gaza Strip is a concentration camp about a quarter of the Area of Caddo Parish with almost ten times the population. The Israelis have bombed hospitals, paramedics, Christian churches and Muslim mosques, residential buildings, U.N.-run schools, and anything else they see civilians. The Israelis massacred civilians in a school in December and have destroyed Gaza’s universities. As of February 18th, 2024, the Israelis are going to commit their biggest atrocity in Rafah, where millions of Palestinians fled on the orders of the Israeli “Defense” Forces. Days after the Hamas-lead Al-Aqsa Flood operation, the Israeli defense minister stated that Gaza would be under complete siege, meaning no food nor water would enter the Gaza Strip. Even after the ruling by the International Court of Justice (ICJ) to stop the killing of civilians and the reporting date to the ICJ coming-up soon, the Israelis are posing to accelerate the death and violence. Black America must pay attention to and learn from the genocide as we are not exempt from this level of violence.
Human rights organizations consider this genocide to be the clearest and most documented genocide in history. Yet, the American media and the Democratic Party have locked themselves behind Israel and its atrocity. The Biden administration is currently bombing Yemen, Iraq, and Syria to support the Israelis in the region. The Biden administration has given Netanyahu a blank check to do as he pleases to Palestinians and to treat them like “Amalek”, a people in the bible which the Jews have murdered by the supposed orders of God. The U.S. media has been protecting the Israelis as they commit their murder of Palestinian children, women, and men, even as the U.S. and the collective West become increasingly isolated by its fanatical support. American troops and soft power are being sacrificed to aid this white European settler colony known as Israel in its genocide in Gaza. The three black soldiers who the Iraqi-Hezbollah killed in Jordan on January 29th will not be the last. As Israeli continues its Holocaust, threatens to invade Lebanon, continues settlement expansion in the West Bank, and pushes for war against the regional power that is Iran, they will use American troops, who are disproportionately black (20 percent of military and 23 percent of enlisted soldiers compared to 12 percent of the population), as cannon fodder for their regional interest.
What the genocide in Gaza and the Democratic Party response has shown is that liberalism and fascism go hand in hand. The white liberals in the Democratic party would sacrifice their short- and long-term geo-political positions, soft-power, and any morality to back a genocide of an Afro-Asian (the Palestinian) people by white European colonist (the Israeli). White liberals have shown that their support for “human rights,” democracy, multi-culturalism, and “coexistence” only matters if the lesser race submits itself to the European master races centered in the Anglo world and Western Europe. Colonized people like black Americans and the Palestinian people are only considered worthy of existence if they remain permanent victims that can be used as tools in the political arena and the economy. If the colonized even think of fighting against their century-long victimization, the white liberal, as we see in Gaza, is quick to become the best of friends of the white fascist and seek the destruction and replacement of the colonized. We see this in Israel with the use of cheap Indian labor to replace cheap Palestinian labor. We see in Israel as well that all Palestinians, in the West Bank, inside Israel, and in Gaza, are facing increasing brutality. You hang together, or you will hang separately, but eventually, the colonizer will hang you, one way or another, if you attempt to stand on two feet.
Black America also needs to learn something from the Palestinian resistance movement. We are both colonized people, i.e., a nation under the control and domination of another nation, who are faced with genocidal regimes that would like to dominate the world. We are also two people who will largely wage our struggle essentially alone. The events after October 7th have shown that we cannot rely on the good nature of Europeans, Euro-Americans, or even those in the diaspora to prevent our annihilation. Look at the statements and actions of so-called progressives in the collective West; no serious actions or statements have been made. A lot of liberal mouthing for Palestinian rights has disappeared since the Palestinians undertook their right to armed resistance. Look at the Arabs in the Middle East; most Arab states continue to be in lockstep behind Massah-Uncle Sam in continuing trade with Israel and doing nothing to combat the genocide of one of their peoples. A few non-state Arab actors are doing armed actions on behalf of the Palestinians, like Hezbollah, Ansarullah in Yemen, and the PMU in Iraq, but the only State actors doing anything serious for the Palestinian cause are the Iranians, who are Persian, largely, not Arab.
The Palestinians have become increasingly united after the events at Al-Aqsa Mosque on October 2nd, October 7th Al-Aqsa flood, and the resulting genocide in Gaza. Hamas is not the only party to the conflict in Gaza, though it is the most prominent political organization. Resistance movements exist across the political spectrum from the left to the right, from the highly religious to secular nationalists. Hamas is in a coalition with the Marxist Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine, the Marxist Democratic Front for the Liberation of Palestine, the liberal Popular Resistance Committees, the secular nationalist PFLP-GC, and the very religious Palestinian Islamic Jahad. A host of other armed groups of various sides operate in the West Bank with the same broad spectrum political background. The Palestinian resistance has been united by the repression perpetrated by the Israelis and their collective yearning for a free and secure Palestinian nation.
We need to recognize that the same entity dominates the Black nation and the Palestinian nation. Israel is the largest recipient of American aid, with 80 percent of Israeli weapons from foreign suppliers coming from the United States. 16% of Israeli military spending comes from the United States, and the United States is Israel’s largest trading partner. AIPAC, or the Israel lobby, manages Israeli political domination of the U.S., while the U.S.’s dominance of Israel is due to its precarious yet strategic geo-political position. The Israeli’s have no one to support them besides the United States due to their own actions. The Democratic Party’s alliance with the black political elite is like the Israeli government’s collaboration with the Palestinian Authority, run by the coons and minstrels of Fatah. They function as managers of an unruly population rather than actual representatives. Netanyahu’s right-wing Likud party is an extension of the U.S. Republican Party, which both have the same goal of genocide of unruly populations. With the rise of the right-wing in this country, it would be wise for us to pay attention and take note of the crimes of the Israeli government and Euro-American support.
